Falcon, West Hawk and surrounding lakes are located 1 ½ hours east of the city of Winnipeg, on the Trans-Canada highway. The Whiteshell, considered Manitoba’s jewel of provincial parks, is nestled in the boreal forest on the rugged and beautiful Canadian shield. It is home to pristine lakes, abundant wildlife, scenic hiking trails and recreational retreats. The area has become a popular all season destination for campers, fishers, hikers, golfers and outdoor adventurists

Summer in the South Whiteshell offers a wide range of entertaining recreational opportunities. The beautiful lakes, Falcon, West Hawk, Caddy, Barren, Star and Hunt are popular places for beach goers, fishers, paddlers, boaters and water sport enthusiasts. The avid golfer will enjoy a game at the Falcon Lake Golf Course, Manitoba’s number one, “Player Preferred Course.” For those who are looking for some adventure, take a scenic horseback ride through the boreal forest at the Falcon Beach Ranch. If you prefer to set your own pace, the Whiteshell has a large variety of beautiful hiking trails that cater to both novice and expert hikers.
In the winter months, the South Whiteshell boasts miles of award winning, well groomed, snowmobile trails connecting to many destinations in the park, across the province or into the U.S. Stop by the Falcon Ridge Ski & Recreation Area, a fantastic setting for family fun in the snow. The ski hill hosts downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snowshoeing and other winter entertainment. For the avid fishermen, many prime locations for ice fishing can be found. Enjoy Falcon Lake’s winter carnival, “Beaver Days,” where you will find a wide range of family fun, including a snowmobile poker derby, sponge hockey tournament and kids carnival.
Treat yourself to a stay at one of the numerous gorgeous resorts offering couple getaways, family vacations, cottage or room rentals. The area is a well developed tourist destination, providing any service you may require: a medley of restaurants and night life destinations, 3-season grocery store, gas station and lumber/hardware suppliers.

Voting full members must be directly involved in trade in the
District. Members should either be full time residents or the
business has some physical presence in the District.2. Associations, Societies, Government Agencies or a business out of the District, may also join as associate members. Non voting associate membership dues are $75.00 per year April 1 to March 31. Membership dues are $125.00 per year April 1 to March 31.
Just advise the park entrance staff that you are entering the park for highway services, and they will wave you through the gate.
